The Artist
Nicholas Rizzo first picked up a camera in 1995 to discover the magic of processing 35mm film and seeing a print emerge in the chemistry of the darkroom. Over the years he developed an intrigue for shape and tone eventually leading to his signature architecture image style.
At heart, Nicholas likes to explore and push exposure and processing techniques. Since his earlier studies with both 35mm and medium format film and in to his newer digital formats. Though his mastery of extreme long exposure techniques are obvious in most of his work, multiple exposures and light shaping are critical components to the final print.
Creating an image that connects emotionally is not the end of the process. Nicholas has a passion for the impact of a well made print. Owning one of Nicholas’ limited edition series acrylic prints is not only a beautiful handcrafted piece of art, but a statement. The prints are designed to be a centerpiece of art in whichever room they hang,
Away from the camera, Nicholas is a commercial rated pilot and flight instructor that flies a Lear 45 and Cirrus SR22 aircraft. Throughout his journey’s, he also enjoys exploring the underwater world as a scuba diver.
