"Light on Abandonment" - Mueller Air Traffic Control Tower, Austin, TX
“Light on Abandonment” feature the control tower from the old Robert Mueller Municipal Airport in Austin, TX. The Muller airport opened in the 1920s and served until 2000. This is the third and final tower at Mueller which stood about 90’ tall and opened in 1961 serving until the final days in 2000. Though the rest of the airport has been demolished, the tower was left as a part of a master panned community.
Limited Edition prints are printed on an archival transparent fine art paper exclusive to just one printer in the world. It is then backed by super white paper. Those papers are then face mounted to a 1/8th inch high performance scratch resistant acrylic delivering an extremely wide dynamic range that has the appearance of a backlit image. There is also a museum quality anti-reflection coating so even in brightly lit rooms, the reflection is well controlled to give a great viewing experience no matter the light. Depending on the size of print, those layers are mounted to either a 3mm DiBond or 6mm Komatex backer. The mounting frame “floats” the print off the wall either 3/4” or 1.3” depending on the print size for a modern frameless design that will be a conversation piece.
All Limited Edition prints come signed and numbers, a certificate of authenticity and a note from the artist about the print.
